The most common coastal blooms in Calabria are 5–7 metre wide green-water strips along the shoreline. At this scale, free satellites see nothing: the phenomenon is smaller than a single pixel. Citizen reports are the only effective detection channel.

How it works

Fill in the type of phenomenon and a short description.
Submit. After a quick review your report will appear on the public map.

The photo is published after a quick check, unedited. No registration, no mandatory personal data. Email is optional, only for contact if needed.

Scientific reuse: photo, GPS, date, type and description are published under CC-BY 4.0 license and used in studies on the Calabrian water quality (model validation, correlation with Copernicus data, comparison with ARPACAL sampling). Email remains private, the IP address is stored in hashed form only for abuse prevention. More details on the How it works.
