preconditions of a bloom: sea temperature, stratification (calm sea)
and marine heatwaves. The bloom measures how favourable
these conditions are; the mucilage combines the bloom with

How to read the two indices
Both indices range from 0 to 100 and share the same
threshold scale: the higher the value, the more favourable
the forecast conditions, for both bloom and mucilage.
